The EZ Control Pelham functions as both a broken and mullen mouth pelham. When pressure is increased the bit goes from a broken mouth pelham to a mullen mouth pelham, increasing the strength of the bit. The short shank provides quicker impact with lower pressure for a more accurate communication. It can be used with one or two reins, however if using only one rein, many riders use a Bit Converter to avoid relying too much on leverage.
